The date of establishing and history: BSU – Bukhara State University was established in 1930 and is a famous and classical higher educational institution with almost 90 years age. The BSU has been preparing thousands of specialists and highly qualified personnel for the national economy of Uzbekistan for a long time. Bukhara State University is an active participant in reforms in education and science in Uzbekistan, combining teaching and learning processes, raising the competitiveness of trained personnel, introducing advanced pedagogical technologies, maintaining and prioritizing scientific researches.

The number of faculties and departments: At present, there are 11 faculties, 33 departments, 41 bachelors, 20 masters degree programs, 7 doctoral degree (DSc) and 21 Ph.D. degree programs at Bukhara State University. The total number of academic staff working at the university is more than 600, including 32 doctors of sciences (Dsc), and professors, 144 candidates of sciences, docents, PhDs, 19 independent researchers, 2 doctoral students, and 23 Ph.D. students. Furthermore, there is a Regional Center for Retraining of Teachers at the Bukhara State University and two specialized scientific councils, Japanese and Korean Language Learning centers, “Wakayama-BukhSU center of Tourism and Research”.

Number of students:  11384 students are studying at 41 BS educational directions and 20 specialized MS degrees of Bukhara State University.

In accordance with the order of the State Inspectorate for Supervision of the quality of education under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued on November 24, 2018, BukhSU received the State Accreditation Certificate for 5 years for compliance with the higher education institution and postgraduate education.
  2. The national ranking of the universities was first announced to the public in 2018. By the end of 2017, Bukhara State University holds the 13th position in the national ranking of universities in Uzbekistan.
  3. According to the results of the tests taken from the graduates of the Universities, the graduates of the BukhSU took 1st place among the graduates of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
  4. BukhSU ranked 6th place in the national ranking of the socio-humanitarian sphere among higher educational establishments in 2017.
