Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education Hosts Seminar on Internationalization

    On January 29, 2020, American and International Councils for Education in cooperation with the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education held a seminar to exchange knowledge and practices of the U.S. and Uzbekistan higher educational systems with the goal of aligning policy priorities.

    The seminar took place at the Main Scientific and Methodological Center for Retraining and Advanced Training of Leadership and Teaching Personnel in the Higher Education System at the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    Experts from U.S. higher education delivered presentations and participated in a discussion with Uzbekistan colleagues: Susan Buck Sutton (University of Indiana), Margaret MacDonald (University of Pittsburgh), Elise Ahn (University of Wisconsin), Andrew Zimbroff (University of Nebraska), Ksenia Ivanenko and Adrian Erlinger (American Councils for International Education).

    The experts discussed key topics and trends in U.S. higher education, including governance and administration, curriculum, finance, research, innovation, technology commercialization.
