Uzbekistan announces the number of accepted students, entering HEIs in 2020

Ministry of Higher Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan announced the number of students, who will have the opportunity to study in Higher Education Institutions in 2020. According to the facts shared in Uzbekistan 24 TV channel, there will be 162,364 entrants this year.

The number of young people in higher education has grown from 9% to 28.4% in 2020. This is due to the increase in numbers of Higher Education Institutions. For instance, starting from 2017 the number of educational institutions increased by 60 percent, from 78 to 125. Most importantly, branches of the leading universities have also started operating in remote areas of Uzbekistan.

In cooperation with the leading universities in Europe, the coverage of teaching on the basis of the double degree program has significantly expanded. Cooperation has been established with 104 higher education institutions in 22 countries. Of these programs, 83 are undergraduate and 64 are master’s degree programs.
