“Establishing Interdisciplinary Research and Teaching Collaborations with Pavlodar State University, Kazakhstan (PSU)”
The goal of this project is to educate and train the next generation of environmental scientists in Kazakhstan. The primary goal of the proposed project is to provide travel funds to initiate a working partnership between SUNY-ESF and PSU to jointly research topics in the general areas of biodiversity conservation and ecosystem restoration.
Teams of faculty from SUNY-ESF and PSU include wetland experts working with soil scientists sharing knowledge of the common characteristics of both systems.
Plant ecologists are expected to do research with microbiologists to demonstrate the use of phytoremediation for habitat restoration.
