Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Program is accepting applications

We’re excited to announce that the Regional English Language Office at the U.S. Embassy in Tashkent is accepting applications to participate in the winter 2021 term of the Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Program. The OPEN Program offers 8-week professional development courses developed by U.S. universities on topics such as English as a Medium of Instruction (EMI) TESOL Methodology, Professional Development for Teacher Trainers, and Integrating Critical Thinking into the Classroom.

The Office of English Language Programs in Washington, D.C. provides academic expertise, advisory and consultative assistance, as well as materials and resources worldwide. All programs are implemented by Regional English Language Officers (RELOs) at American Embassies or Consulates. The RELO office for Central Asia is based in Astana and serves five Central Asian countries – Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan – as a professional consultant on a wide range of English language projects. RELOs travel throughout the region, providing seminars and other training for English teachers and supporting the work of English teacher associations. They also work closely with Education Ministries and university English departments on issues related to curriculum and materials development.
Deadline: October 16, 2020.
