Andijan State University

The date of establishing and history:  The history of the Andijan State University named after Z. M. Babur has begun in 1931. First, as a branch of the Fergana Pedagogical Institute and in 1939 as a Retraining  Institute for teachers. In 1953, Andijan State Pedagogical Institute was established on the basis of the Retraining  Institute. After the independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan since 1992, it has been reorganized as Andijan State University.  ASU is a leading University in Fergana Valley. The number of applicants is exceeding every year due to the facilities and professional staff at the University. It has a good relationship with other neighboring countries’ universities and pursuing close cooperation in the future. The staff was engaged in curriculum development, coursebook writing, capacity building projects with  Tempus, Erasmus Mundus and Erasmus + programs TuCAHEA: ( Towards a Central Asian Higher Education Area: Turning Structures and Building Quality Culture.  IQAT:  Enhancing Capacities in the implementation of institutional quality assurance systems and typology using Bologna process principles.  ModeHEd : Modernizing health education in Universities.  RENES: Development of Masters Programme in Renewable Energy Sources and Sustainable Environment (2nd Call). Access English for STEM programs sponsored by the U.S. Department of State. 

The number of faculties and departments:  At present, there are 10 faculties, 35 departments. 36 bachelors, 20 masters degree programs.  524 teachers and professors (including 196 female teachers), 47 doctors of sciences (Dsc),   178 candidates of science and associate professors. There is a Regional Center for Retraining of Teachers at   Andijan State University. 
There are 92 laboratory rooms, 16 language classes (the provision of linguistic equipment is 93 %), 28 computer classes, 932 computers.
There are 11 students’ dormitories for 3625 students at the university.

The number of students:   13200   students are studying at 36 BS educational directions and  149 Master students at 20 specialized MS degrees at  Andijan State University.

 The number of faculties and departments:   There are 10 faculties, 35 departments. 524 teachers and professors (including 196 female teachers) of faculty train students, 47 of them are doctors of science, professors and 178 are candidates of science and associate professors.
There are 92 laboratory rooms, 16 language classes (the provision of linguistic equipment is 93 %), 28 computer classes, 932 computers.

  1. In accordance with the order of the State Inspectorate for Supervision of the quality of education under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan issued on  June 25, 2014,  ASU received the State Accreditation Certificate for 5 years for compliance with the higher education institution and postgraduate education.
  2. The national ranking of the universities was first announced to the public in 2018.  Andijan State University holds the  43d position in the national ranking of universities in Uzbekistan.
